Dirk showed off his pickleball skills again this year at the Deep Eddy Vodka Celebrity Pickleball Showdown. It was part of the Pickleball World Championships at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas on Thursday, November 7. Alongside Dirk, the star-studded event featured Mavericks Head Coach Jason Kidd, NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens, former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson, former NFL wide receiver Golden Tate, retired NBA star Kris Humphries and American tennis champion John Isner.

“I participated in this event last year and had a blast,” Nowitzki said. “When I arrived last year, I couldn’t believe how large scale the event was, and it looks like it has gotten even bigger this year. It says a lot about the popularity and massive growth of pickleball. It is fun to come out here and seeing people of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels competing.”

The event took place in front of a capacity crowd of nearly 3000 spectators and aired live on Tennis Channel. The Deep Eddy Vodka Celebrity Showdown is a testament to the growing popularity of pickleball and its ability to bring together athletes from different sports. The event highlighted the fun, inclusive and competitive nature of pickleball.
