The weather didn’t slow down us down as The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation spent Friday, May 2, celebrating moms at the Center Table Mother’s Day food distribution event. The Foundation fed more than 500 families in partnership with HEB, Mrs. Baird’s bread, Nebraska Furniture Mart and Mark Cuban Heroes Center.
The May event is becoming a staple for the Foundation, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of our incredible volunteers. Each family received ham, chicken, milk, bread, pantry items, gas card, NFM kitchen essentials and HEB gift card.
“These food distribution event has become very important to me, my family and this foundation,” Dirk Nowitzki said. “We started these during the pandemic and, as you can see, there is still a tremendous need in this part of Dallas. There are very few grocery stores around here and we know that inflation is making it difficult for many families. Being out here today and helping our neighbors will always be important to us.”
With the economic climate continuing to take its toll on families, the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation is incredibly thankful to all its partners and the volunteers who helped make the event such a success.
