Even with some challenging weather, the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation came together on Wednesday, May 6, to celebrate moms and mom figures at its annual Center Table Mother’s Day event. In partnership with HEB, Mrs. Baird’s and the Mark Cuban Heroes Center, the Foundation supported more than 800 families across the community.
What has become a wonderful May tradition continues to grow each year, thanks to the incredible dedication of our volunteers. Each family received a variety of essentials, including turkey, chicken, milk, bread, pantry staples, produce, kitchen items and a gift card from HEB.
“These events have become extremely meaningful to me, my family and our foundation,” said Dirk Nowitzki. “It’s clear there is still a tremendous need in this part of Dallas, and it is important for us to show up for our neighbors. With limited access to grocery stores and the ongoing impact of inflation, many families continue to face challenges. Supporting our neighbors and being present in the community will always matter to us.”
As many families continue to feel the strain of today’s economic climate, the Foundation is especially grateful for its partners and the volunteers who helped make the day such a success.
