The 6th Annual Dirk Nowitzki Foundation Tennis Classic was held on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Banner House at T Bar M. Presented by Chime, this year’s event was an exhibition-style charity match that drew a capacity crowd.
Dirk was joined by friends Steve Nash, J.J. Barea, Mark Knowles, Coco Vandeweghe, Dr. Phil McGraw and Klay Thompson as they entertained the fans in a series of doubles matches. This year’s event was a departure from its previous format and pitted Team Nowitzki vs. Team Nash. With the two-team format and all the players »mic’ed up,« the crowd was treated to a fun day of entertainment for an amazing cause.
»After taking a year off in 2023, we were super-excited to bring our tennis event back this year,« Dirk Nowitzki said. »This year we were happy to host everyone at T Bar M, and for the fans to experience so much more with our new setup. It was great to see how much everyone enjoyed the show court, the festival area and the player mics. I think it was the best event we’ve ever had. It was a fun day for the players, vendors and fans.«
As in years past, the event was a huge success, and all proceeds went to The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation which focuses on helping children through programs aimed toward their well-being, health and education.
