We saw Dirk Nowitzki serve up more than 31,000 points in the NBA, but have you ever seen him serve at 100 miles per hour?

If you have not, now’s your chance! Tickets are on sale now for the fourth annual Dirk Nowitzki Pro Celebrity Tennis Classic at SMU on Sept. 15. We can not promise that Dirk’s serve really wants to clock in at above 100 mph, but we can guarantee a great time. The lifelong tennis lover himself wants to be there, along with his former running buddy on the basketball court, two-time NBA MVP’s Steve Nash. Tennis champions Tommy Haas (former world No. 2) and Mark Knowles (Grand Slam doubles champ) will return once again as competitors, as will actor Boris Kodjoe of Soul Food ,  Love & Basketball , and more.

You never know who else might play, either. Last year, for example, former Mavericks guard Monta Ellis took part in the tournament, many tennis players and teammates of Nowitzki’s have competed, including tennis champion Andy Roddick, NBA champ JJ Barea, Devin Harris, Dwight Powell, and more.

Competitor intros begin at 11 am at the SMU Tennis Complex, and the round-robin tournament will immediately kick off and last until 3 pm All profits benefit the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation.
